Revenge Recap: Fauxmanda Takes a Tumble

| October 22, 2012 | 0 Comments

The show opens with some maid cleaning blood off the Grayson’s floor as Victoria stands over her watching. We then cut to ’24 hours earlier.’ Who died now?

Emily tells Aiden the woman he spoke to at the sketchy motel was her mother. Aiden doesn’t even seem shocked to find this out, and still won’t tell her where her mom is because he knows she won’t like what she finds. Despite Aidens’ thoughts, Emily plans to find her mom anyway – even though she was involved in the death of her ‘lover’ (aka the white haired man).

Amanda moves out of Jack’s ‘house’ and heads to live at Emily’s. While moving in, Emily tells her that her mother is still alive and she needs her to talk to Victoria to find out where she is. While discussing, Victoria calls and invites Amanda over (how convenient). She tells her to bring the journals Charlotte told her about. Amanda agrees. Emily asks Nolan to hack into the Grayson’s security cameras so she can watch and listen to the conversation between Amanda and Victoria… and of course tell Amanda what to say. At the Grayson’s, Amanda reads Victoria passages from the journal. Victoria offers her $100,00 for the journals, but Amanda says no – and that she just wants to know where her mother is. However, Vic won’t budge. She tells Amanda that her mother died in a mental institution and was the source of all her father’s pain, but they both know she really isn’t dead. Before Amanda can get anything else out of her, Charlotte walks in and Victoria pretends they were talking about her baby shower, which they are now having tomorrow. Exciting.

Ashley continues to be Mr. Grayson’s pet by spying on her BF, Daniel. She tries to find out what Daniel’s up to and he continues to play stupid and confides in Ashley… that is until she sees Conrad calling her at night. The next day in the office, Daniel calls security and asks to have Ashley’s car moved because it’s in an unauthorized spot. While she’s out moving her car, he listens to her voicemail and hears Conrad asking her for more info on what Daniel is thinking/doing (why didn’t she take her cell phone?). He’s pissed. Obv.

Aiden goes back to the sketchy motel now pretending to work for the FBI. Mom Kara tries to leave, but Aiden holds her at gun point and they head in to the motel. As Aiden thinks he’s finally getting clues out of Kara, she shoots him with a taser gun and ties him up out of no where (like mother, like daughter). She asks him who he is and says he must either be working for the Grayson’s or the Initiative – because he sure as hell isn’t working for her husband. The WHM was Emily’s step dad?! Dun dun dun…

Emily walks in to her baby shower with three friends from the strip club. Ghetto people in the Grayson house – Victoria is probably very happy she installed those security cameras now. She plans to use the sluts as a distraction while talking to Victoria. I mean, they know fun shower games.

Later on at the party, Victoria gives Amanda her gift – a baby journal. She tells her to open it in a semi-scary/hilarious voice, and Amanda finds a check for 100 grand inside. After, Victoria and Amanda head somewhere private. Amanda confronts her with the list of people who visited the mental institution her mother was in. She compares the check signature to the sign in signature and they match. Secret’s out – Victoria saw her mother in the mental hospital! Victoria starts to yell at Amanda and leaves the room. She tells Amanda her father was only trying to protect her and that David would rather lie to her than have her know the truth. Emily loses reception on her phone and can’t hear the rest of the conversation – in which she tells Amanda her mother tried to kill her. Amanda says it can’t be true, and Victoria tries to grab the check and sign in list out of her hands… While doing so, Amanda trips and falls right over the balcony on to the first floor. A terrified Victoria screams for someone to call 911.

Meanwhile at the Porter bar and breakfast, Declan tries to get the stuff he stole back from the rich kid, but it’s already gone (of course). Jack tries to reason with the man they stole from, but he wants way too much money. Jack tells him he needs to open the bar in order to have an income, which he can’t do because it won’t pass inspection. While talking, he receives the call from Emily that Amanda is hurt and has to leave. After he leaves, the guy calls the kid who got Declan to steal and he asks if he made an offer on the bar yet. Looks like this was the plan all along.

In a very insignificant D story that has nothing to do with the rest of the plot (yet), Nolan’s Indian CFO continues to work with him. She asks Nolan why he didn’t tell her his father was dead. Apparently he didn’t know… until now. Nolan is shaken up by the news, but won’t talk about it. Indian CFO finds a key on Nolan’s desk and goes to his father’s storage area to see what was there. She finds a binder with his name on it and brings it to Nolan convincing him to go to the storage unit. The binder is full of pictures and news articles about Nolan. They head to the storage unit and share a kiss. Aww. But then she finds a check from David Clarke and gets all WTF-eyed… She probably thinks a terrorist invested in his company. I wonder if she’ll bring this up? Prob.

Conrad comes home to blood being swept off the floor. His immediate reaction is ‘are the kids okay?‘ Like, why wouldn’t you get a call if one of your kids left a trail of blood on the floor of your own home? Con and Vic basically ignore the fact Amanda fell off their balcony and her and her unborn baby are now possibly dead, and talk about the other more important problem – Amanda is close to figuring out that Victoria hand delivered Kara to Gordon Murphy. Wait – what?

Ashley and Daniel walk in to find Conrad and Victoria talking, but don’t see any blood. How did it all disappear in a minute? Why didn’t they question the blood? Why doesn’t anyone tell them Amanda may have just died in their home? Instead of talking about the tragic event that just occurred, Conrad gets Ashley alone and she tells him she’s done spying on Daniel. Daniel listens in a corner and smiles. They then have sex, still not knowing what happened.

Now we see Kara driving… somewhere. Over the radio, she hears that her daughter (or so she thinks) was hurt in an accident at the Grayson’s. She seems shocked and heads to the hospital. Meanwhile at the hospital, Emily tells the doctor if it comes down to it, she wants to save the baby instead of herself (the real Amanda Clarke would so save herself). All of a sudden many hospital sounds start going off and they have to perform emergency surgery on Amanda. Due to the surgery, Amanda is now in a coma… but the baby is alive. Declan arrives at the hospital and consoles Charlotte… shall this romance be rekindled? Perhaps.

Emily walks through the hospital, alone, and finds her mother, Kara Clarke, standing by Amanda’s bedside. She then has a flashback to her mother trying to drown her. After this, she leaves the hospital (obviously she doesn’t care too much about her ‘friend’) and heads home. Aiden, who managed to get out of the chair (thanks Takeda), shows up at Emily’s to say ‘I told you so.’ Emily then cries in his arms. She is, like, sooo coming undone.

So what will happen next? Will Amanda not make it, leaving Jack with a child he can’t afford? Will he have to sell the bar to raise the child? Will Kara Clarke realize fauxmanda is a faux (probably)? Will Kara Clarke realize Emily is her daughter (again… probably)? Will she try to kill her? Will anyone ever get along???
