The Team

Founder/Editor-in-chief:

Samantha Matt graduated in May 2010 from Ithaca College where she studied Television Production and minored in Writing. She is 23 years old and works full time as a Production Associate at a TV Production Company in Boston. Because she misses college terribly, Sam makes sure to still live “the college life” (and write this blog) whenever she is not working. She wants to help other twenty somethings & recent college grads feel young (because we are). She has big dreams, but for now is working her way up the career ladder in her second entry-level job, saving her pennies (with the occasional shoe purchase), and continuing to live the dream. The Contributors:

Lauren Certo graduated from Ithaca College in 2009. After that, she moved across the country from Philadelphia to Los Anglees where she currently works in the writer’s department on the television show, “Bones.”  Like many other 20-somthings she is obsessed with Marshall’s, dancing, wine, and everything Bethenny Frankel.  When Lauren isn’t getting people coffee and making copies, she can be found running at the beach.  Having been an avid runner her whole life, Lauren stuggles to balance the demands of her job, social life, and running marathons in this strange post-college adventure.  She blogs about her races, life, and anything and everything L.A. at RunningHollywood.com. Follow her on Twitter at @RunningHwood!

Kristina Cappuccilli graduated from Manhattanville College in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. During her time as a college student, she interned at notable companies throughout Manhattan, including Bad Boy Entertainment and Cosmopolitan Magazine. The internships proved to be just as challenging and rewarding as she’d hoped, giving her loads of experience and teaching her that hard work actually does pay off. After applying to editorial position after editorial position throughout the summer following graduation, she decided that getting a foot in the door was better than not having a job at all. She currently works as part of an administrative support team at an executive search firm in Manhattan. Living two hours away and commuting to the city to save up for an apartment in NYC is just as painful as it sounds, but hopefully the summer will bring new living arrangements! In the meantime, she’s just learning to balance it all. Being a commuter, pursuing a career in writing, and having a full-time job and boyfriend is a lot to take on, but she’s ready for it (with a pen in hand, of course). Amy Lynn graduated from Northern Illinois University in May of 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. She also possesses an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design. She is currently employed as an Administrative Assistant at a small engineering firm near Chicago. It’s not ideal, but it pays the bills – sort of. She is searching for a career where she can incorporate her love for writing and graphic design. She is recently engaged and going through the process of finding  a place to rent with her fiance. While going through the struggles of being a 26 year old, Amy has developed budgeting strategies to help her pay her student loans, car payments, (soon) rent, and all the other costs that come with being a “post college adult.” In her free time she enjoys reading, heading to the beach with her finance, and chatting it up on Twitter. She hopes her future holds a house within walking distance of a beach in Florida and two dogs. You can find Amy on Twitter at @SuburbanBlender or check out her blog at Suburban Blender.

Elana Lyn Gross graduated from George Washington University (go Colonials!) in May 2011 and is quickly realizing that there is not an instruction manual for post-grad life. You can read about her post-graduate odyssey at her blog, The Preppy Post Grad, Gen Y Hub, University Ave, and (of course) Forever 20 Somethings. When I am not writing or working I enjoy spin classes and, when the weather is nice, I love biking and long walks in Central Park. I was born and raised in Manhattan and am a proud New Yorker although I believe New Yorkers wear far too much black. I am likely to be found wearing Lilly and sipping a latte.

Jen is an alum of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, with a degree in Screenwriting.  She’s currently pursuing her passion to create/write for a teen drama TV show, while bouncing from TV show to TV show in the Writer’s department. She grew up in LA and is a total valley girl, so please ignore the like’s and totally’s, she has no control over it. When she isn’t working she enjoys taking bootcamp workout classes, hiking, reading, watching way too much TV, and enjoying life with the cutest dog ever and her boyfriend of 5 years. You can also follow her at her blog Peanut Butter and Franq.

Stephanie is an alum of Truman State University. She is a long-time athlete with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a B.A. in Biology (also a minor in Health Sciences and Business Administration). While Stephanie is currently trying to pursue a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science, she also strives to motivate and encourage others to make beneficial lifestyle changes to help improve their overall health and quality of life. She is also the creator and editor-in-chief of a health and fitness blog, Infinite Life Fitness. Her site provides it’s readers with great, healthy recipes, motivational posts on working out, staying fit, eating right, and other helpful information for those who are looking to make lifestyle changes. Writing health and fitness articles, pursuing a career in medicine, and trying to live life to the fullest, Stephanie is trying to make her mark in this world and she is starting right here – right now!

NYC Housewife-in-Training is an alum of an east coast school who now works at an advertising agency in Manhattan. She channels June Cleaver and Carol Brady as a housewife-in-training for the modern gal. Except for that fact that she has full-time job and lives circa now, she’s very 1950s. She enjoys cooking & baking, sparkly nail polish, cardigans and loud laughs.

Maggie V. graduated in May 2011 from Miami of Ohio and currently works as a writer in Indianapolis, IN. A self-described health-nut, she enjoys running, biking, getting her butt kicked by Jillian Michaels, and has recently taken up yoga. When not sweating profusely on the treadmill, Maggie loves concert-going, shopping (well, window shopping or filling a fantasy shopping cart online), cooking, and traveling. Being a newbie to Indianapolis and the “real world” is tough and she’s taking things one glass of cheap wine at a time.

Kaili T is a December 2010 graduate from the University of Southern Maine, where she majored in Media Studies. She is currently employed at a mid-sized law firm. For the recent grad, the year after graduation was a year filled with big changes and tough lessons all which led to a new approach on how to navigate the gray area that follows leaving college. She enjoys evenings with the occasional glass of wine often planning her next twentysomethings career/life move. Kaili loves to run, workout and spend time outdoors when the New England weather permits. Her interests range from cooking to just about any type of science. More recently, a vacation to the Bahamas inspired her to want to travel just about everywhere. She is currently trying to figure out if her ambitions will take her into the Coast Guard or nursing school. Catch up with her @ShhJustRun!

Lisl is a 2011 graduate of Grand Valley State University with a bachelors degree in advertising and public relations. Currently in her post grad life, she is working as a freelancer in Ad/PR based in her home state of Michigan. In addition to writing for Forever Twenty Somethings, Lisl is also a contributor for Khloe Magazine, who you can follow on Twitter at @khloemagazine. Follow Lisl on Twitter at @LMKnizner.

Katie Greenberg is a recent graduate from the University of Colorado, Boulder. As a student, Katie studied to be a writer and has won several awards for her argumentative and creative nonfiction style essays. Currently, Katie works part time in retail and lives in Boulder with her boyfriend. While she continues to search for full time work she still hopes to pursue a future career in writing. Her latest blog, Graduated and Gone Astray, chronicles her job search as well as other events that plague/inspire her. Like most 20 something writers, Katie finds herself a little lost in this job market and primarily hopes to reach out to others who are in the same boat, letting them know that it’s ok to be a bit lost. Check out her blog, Graduated Gone Astray!
