All of my life, I have always spent New Year’s Eve at home. I have never been the party girl type, and I have always  enjoyed staying home. Here are 10 things I would rather do at home on New Year’s Eve instead going out partying:

1. Watch a good movie.

If you’re a huge movie buff, you’ll enjoy watching movies from the comfort of your own living room. Dropping by Red Box to rent a few new movies prior to New Years Eve is a must.

2. Catch up on TV shows on Netflix.

There’s never enough time during the week to catch up with your favorite shows. New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to log onto your Netflix account to catch up with your favorite shows.

3. Play board games.

If you’re home with family or friends it’s always fun to bring out Sorry, Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Operation, and other fun board games.

4. Eat loads of junk food.

Bring on the popcorn, chips, candy, and ice cream! You can NEVER have enough junk food on New Year’s Eve. It’s that one day where you can give yourself a pass to eat as much junk food as your heart desires.

5. Try cooking or baking a new dish.

If you’re like me, you’re probably clueless when it comes to cooking or baking. But, try to recruit a family member or friend to help you cook or a bake something you’ve never tried before.

6. Make drinks at home.

Making your own mixed drinks is great while at home as it’s so inexpesive. You also don’t have to worry about drinking and driving as you won’t be going anywhere.

7. Put together a playlist of songs from this past year.

Think about all of your favorite songs from 2015, and write them down. Then, create a playlist using all of your favorite songs. (DANCE PARTY ANYONE?)

8. Create a scrapbook with photos and memories from this past year.

Grab all of your favorite photos from 2015, and create a do-it-yourself scrapbook. It’s a fun activity and helps you think back and remember all of your best memories from 2015.

9. Make a list of New Year’s Resolutions.

Rather you want to exercise more, or learn how to do something new, writing down your New Year’s resolutions can be extremely helpful as you’ll feel more organized going into 2016.

10. Watch the New Year’s countdown from my living room couch.

There’s just something AWESOME about watching the countdown from the comfort of your own living room. As you won’t have to deal with crowds of people, and drunk and obnoxious people. All you have to do is watch the countdown from your television with no interruptions.
