Whether it happens in October or in January, the extreme cold weather (also known as the #PolarVortex) is a bitter sensation Midwesterners and East Coasters know all too well:
1. Your commute is now doubled and people are packed in train cars/buses like sardines
2. You decide driving to work is a better option because you’ll be warm, but everyone else has the same idea and you’ll be stuck in traffic
3. You hate when all your school teacher friends get school closings and secretly wish that your office closed too
4. Single-digit and below-zero temps have people running like it’s a freaking apocalypse
5. You question why you live in the Midwest/East and start looking up flights to Florida
6. If work isn’t closed, you have to brave the temps (and frostbite!)
7. And that means putting on 50 million layers
8. And dressing like an abominable snowman with a heavy duty coat, thick scarf, hat and gloves
9. Thinking a pair of UGGs are warm enough for trekking from place to place (hint: they’re not)
10. The need to invest in a space heater/electric blanket
11. Or, if you’re trying to save money, curl up to a small animal
Which is exactly what we’d want to do anyway…
