As a devoted Apple fan, I was skeptical when I first got my Intel Tablet. I didn’t think I would like it because it was Microsoft and I associate Microsoft with two things: 1. the 90s and 2. work. But it’s not the 90s anymore… and Microsoft has so much more to offer than what we see on our office desktops. Over the past couple of weeks, I have gotten to know and appreciate my Intel Tablet. It’s interactive, modern, and reliable. And it can be used for both work and fun. Yes — it really can. And just so you believe me, I have developed a list of reasons you should get yourself an Intel Tablet. No, not all reasons will apply to you… but if you’re reading this, chances are you’re a twentysomething… meaning chances are, they will.

You should get yourself an Intel tablet because…

1. You probably can’t fit your computer in your bag… but a tablet — it doesn’t take up much space.

2. You also probably can’t afford a new computer (let’s be serious).

3. …Or an iPad (they’re more expensive).

4. But you need a new computer or the closest thing to it, which my friends is an Intel tablet. This is because it’s secretly a mini PC. Attach a keyboard to an Intel tablet and you won’t know the difference.

Yup — that’s a tablet!

5. You can’t use your phone or computer to email people while on a machine at the gym. But you could put your tablet in front of you on the elliptical to monitor things so you don’t have to stay home.

6. You can catch up on your favorite shows from anywhere. Instead of waiting to get home to watch last night’s episode of Girls, you can watch it while traveling in the car or running on the treadmill at the gym. We’re too busy to watch TV, but a tablet can make it possible.

7. Oh — and if a show you missed isn’t On Demand or on Netflix, you can search for an app on your tablet or find a way to watch it there.

8. Despite what you may think, you would actually like Windows 8. It’s not your typical Windows operating system. It’s touch screen, it’s pretty, and it has all sorts of apps. And don’t worry – you can customize it to your liking. AKA pick your own colors and get your own apps. So yours doesn’t have to pink with ABC Fam and TMZ apps if you don’t want…

9. It lets you switch between fun and work with the tap of a finger. You can easily switch between the ‘fun’ Windows 8 and the ‘serious’ desktop interface.

10. You can work remotely on it. From anywhere. Like, you can actually save documents to your Intel tablet. Word, excel, PDFs, whatever. And you don’t have to sit at a desk or stay home to do it.

11. It’s cheaper than buying a bunch of textbooks every semester. If you’re still in school, it’s pretty much a deal.

12. You’ll never go hungry. Seriously. There are sooo many recipe apps with recipes galore.

13. You’ll also never go thirsty. There’s an app with drink recipes for every type of alcohol out there. And I need to make them all, stat.

14. You don’t want to worry about draining your phone’s battery anymore when you’re bored. When you’re not around a computer, constantly refreshing FB and Twitter can absolutely drain your phone’s battery. But you really do need your phone — so having a little tablet around would let you curb boredom and keep your phone alive. Oh, and the Intel tablet battery lasts forever. Or at least I’m convinced it does.

15. You write a blog and can’t always be on the computer. Okay, maybe that’s just me… but for all the other bloggers out there, tablets are necessary.

So what do you think? Would you get yourself an Intel tablet?

Full Disclosure: I received an Acer Iconia W510 Tablet for free from Intel as part of joining the tablet crew. I am free to write whatever I want and all opinions are my own.
