Trend Alert: Python Print

It’s time to give your leopard print a break in favor of a new animal-inspired pattern – python! Personally, I’m terrified of snakes, but their sleek skin makes for some bold, sophisticated fashion choices. Python print is showing up everywhere this season – from more expected clutches and wallets, to daring skinny jeans. Python is a great way to add a textured piece into your wardrobe, and I love all the unique colors and adaptations of the print. Take a look at some of my favorite python picks below!

Python Embossed Envelope Clutch, $72, Barneys New York

A python clutch is perhaps the safest option, but it still makes a subtle statement in its own way. Swap out your go-to black clutch for this print to take your look to the next level.

Diane von Furstenberg Python Wallet, $65, The Outnet

I love this turquoise python wallet from Diane von Furstenberg, because the print is not immediately recognizable as python. It’s a more modern, graphic version, which gives the wallet a cool texture.

Sidewalk Skimmer in Python Print, $100, Madewell

I have a pair of leopard-print flats that I’ve worn to death, and now I’m dying for this python pair! I love these beige flats, because even though they are a pattern, they almost act as a neutral. You could literally pair these with any color in your closet.

Dolce Vita Ayumi Python Print Silk Top, $100, Piperlime

Python and silk make such a chic combination. I love the details on this top, from the contrast collar to the rolled sleeves. A top like this would look great with black skinny jeans or with a leather pencil skirt, as shown in the photo. It’s a great way to mix black and brown, and you know you’re not committing a fashion faux-pas, since the pattern incorporates both.

Python Scarf, $29, Urban Outfitters

The print on this scarf is abstract and textured, so it’s not immediately recognizable as python. I love this for winter, because the cream color really brightens up an all-black outfit.

Pastel Python Dress, $70, French Connection

At first glance, this just looks like a powder pink dress, but when you look closely, you can see the faint details of the python pattern. The print makes this ultra-feminine dress just a little edgier.

Rich and Skinny Python-Print Skinny Jeans, $87, Saks Fifth Avenue

A python skinny jean is perhaps the boldest way to wear the trend. These teal python jeans really make a statement!
