It’s happened to all of us. That one regulation hottie at work that is just drool worthy. Props to you if you have more than one attractive man in your office, I am jealous. ANYWAYS – all you want to do is stare at that babe all day long but you also don’t want to give away your secret. Real post grad struggles, right?
1. The first time you make eye contact, your heart stops and you think you’ve found the one. This is when you realize that you’re going to love this job—mainly because you have eye candy to look at when the going gets tough.
2. Finally finding out his name is like winning the lottery, and then you stalk the company LinkedIn employees to find out his last name so you and the girls can stalk the rest of his life.
3. “Doing a lap” in the office becomes a daily routine. You know what I’m talking about—when you go out of your way just to walk past their desk and make sure they see how cute your outfit is today. We’ve all done it, probably more than once. Word of advice: make friends with someone who sits by them.
4. Purposely pausing in the kitchen…by the water filter…in the hallway. This is the best trick I’ve found to initiate conversaion. You know they are walking the same direction as you, so you purposely stop at something in the pathway to accidentally bump into them. Works wonders.
5. You become an expert at sports talk. “Oh did you catch the (insert sports team here) game last night?” Weather talk is easy, too. Just one word about how cold it is at the coffee station = perfection.
6. The first time they smile at you is like magic. You finally get a good conversation going, they smile at you, you melt and start to plan the wedding.
7. Sometimes they wear an outfit that would look better on your floor and you don’t really know how to handle it. They come in looking better than they ever have. Everything in your brain goes to mush—you don’t know the day of the week or where you are. Then you remember you’re at work and can’t you can’t just thrown down that pick up line that always works for you.
8. When you find out they have a girlfriend, the world as you know it comes crashing down. HOW COULD THEY? Don’t they know you two are meant to be? Clearly they were not aware of the secret relationship that you two are in. Whatever, just because there’s a goalie doesn’t mean you can’t score, right ladies?
