December 1st is a very special day, indeed. For starters, everyone will be feeling the holiday spirit, since you won’t be able to escape it until after the New Year. It is also the day that many of the lovely department stores I can’t afford to shop at unveil their sparkling, ornate, and highly conceptualized window displays. Last year Gaga’s Workshop at Barneys blew my mind and my savings.
Thankfully, the fashion gods have heard my cries and are delivering me to a once in a lifetime collaboration with all my favorite designers at two of my favorite stores, Neiman Marcus and Target. Yes, you read that right. Both retailers will be offering the same products specially designed by the likes of Band of Outsiders, Philip Crangi, Thom Brown, and many more luxury fashion and homeware designers.
To express my gratitude, I wrote my own version of the classic Christmas song Santa Baby.
Santa Baby, the designer version
Santa baby, slip a Rag & Bone cardigan under the tree, for me
I’ve been an awful good boy
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, an Proenza Schouler sweatshirt, light grey
I’ll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I’ve missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven’t kissed
Next year I could be oh so good
If you’d check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo
Santa honey, I wanna Prabal Gurung Cape and really that’s
Not a lot
I’ve been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa cutie, there’s one thing I really do need, the key
To Marc Jacobs loft
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany’s
I really do believe in you
Let’s see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo
Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, Brian Atwood sunnies
I don’t mean the largest branch of Islam
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
