Oh my God, they’re back again.

Just when you thought you couldn’t stand the latest 1D song (kids these days don’t really know what boy bands are, aka you’re old, one of the ORIGINAL ’90s boy bands is back–Backstreet’s back, alright.

The boys (err, men?) showcase their life story in a new documentary, Backstreet Boys: Show Em What You’re Made Of, hitting theaters and Video On Demand on Friday.

Like all boy bands, 15 seconds of fame can fizzle out after a few albums, countless hit singles, and they start showing signs of aging. But despite all odds, BSB has made gracious attempts at a comeback (and not, say, 30 seconds at a mediocre video music awards show, cough, *NSYNC) from tours with other ’90s boy bands (NKOTBSB) to continuing to produce music. Though Nick’s baby voice is long gone, the boys’ smooth, soulful croons still warms my twenty-something heart. (Is that weird?)

If you, like me, were the lucky ones who had any of the boys’ “Making Of” Videos on VHS growing up, you know that this is a PRETTY BIG DEAL. Oh yeah, not to mention they’ve already had theater cred at the ending scene of This Is The End.

But if you can’t wait that long, we’ll leave you with one of their most fantastic gems (and my favorite music video): Oh hey, nostalgia!

Hannah Gettleman is a bubbly twenty-something living in Chicago. She graduated in 2012 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Journalism. Don't tell her that print is dying--she's already made the switch to public relations. As a Midwest girl, winter happens approximately 80% of the year, so she knows a thing or two about a good pair of snow boots. She lives for summer weather (even though she can never tan), Boy Meets World reruns, and an unhealthy addiction to dark chocolate and online shopping. She's a die-hard Chicago sports fan, even though she's well aware the Cubs always end up in last place every year.
