Things I love: desert heat in summer (yes, really), mimosas, and Kate Spade New York. Each year, KSNY unveils a theme to set the tone for their upcoming work. Last year’s theme was “Things We Love”, filled with pops of color and whimsical statement clutches. Just unveiled at New York Fashion Week was this year’s theme: “Travel”. Every year Kate Spade tries to and succeeds in creating a brand filled with “must-have” fashion pieces.
Occasionally, I find myself drooling in front of the Kate Spade store in downtown Seattle, wondering how I got there. Kate Spade is a unique brand because it manages to encompass the draw of more established brands such as Chanel and Louboutin while retaining the joie de vivre of fresher brands like Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs. While it’s pricey, a $400 bag is a lot less expensive than a $3,000 bag. Plus, their product will last you forever provided you take proper care of it. I have a few Kate Spade pieces that serve as the perfect compliment to all sorts of outfits. The brand itself is a reminder that chic comes in all colors and all sizes – hot pink included (thank goodness).
Here are some of their current pieces that are on my radar at the moment. Can you tell that Paris on my mind?
