Although it seems that fall has just started, fashion designers are already thinking ahead to next season’s biggest trends. Beginning in New York all the way to Paris (with stops in London and Madrid, among other locations), Fashion Week is the biggest event in style, ever, only occurring twice a year (in September and in February). Take a peek at 10 of the latest styles, straight from the runways.

Minty Fresh

Instead of the rich jewel tones and oxblood shades that ruled the Fall/Winter runways, spring is all about delicate pastels, like anything in the mint/seafoam/teal category, a popular trend recycled from last year’s spring shows.

Cutouts

Just in time for swimsuit season, dresses with cutout designs help show off a sleek silhouette in a daring way.

Sheer Panel Skirts

As the weather warms up, we want our wardrobe to include lightweight fabrics without sacrificing style. These skirts give you a bit more coverage than the full-on sheer skirts that ruled the runway last year but still give you full access to the sheer trend.

Tough Headbands

These headbands are not the same ones you wore with frilly pink bows and sequins on them back in first grade (or maybe that was just me…), and have gotten a serious upgrade for twenty-somethings with details like chains, mixed metals and, at Erin Fetherston, zippers.

Bold Stripes

A basic staple, a striped shirt is practically a must-have item that can be worn year-round. I’m eyeing that Oscar de la Renta dress on the left.

Refined Ruffles

Girly and soft, these designs prove ruffles can be age-appropriate for anyone, especially in shades of sky blue, lemon yellow and peach.

Sixties Chic

Each season, it seems that designers pick a decade to focus their collections on. This season, it’s the 1960s, but instead of the mod dresses and color blocking, it’s full-on Beatlemania, with psychedelic prints and peace signs. Groovy.

Baggy Bermuda Shorts

Like the boyfriend jean, Bermuda shorts are the kind of clothing that needs to have that worn-in feel. Because they can vary in length (as opposed to cut off shorts), these shorts can flatter anyone, as long as you wear something fitted on top.

Cage Booties

A great summer sandal, like this one from Balmain, to flaunt a fresh pedicure.

Wedges and Flat Sandals

It can’t be spring and summer without the most essential footwear, right? These two pairs from Dolce and Gabanna, have a Spanish-style flair.

And just for kicks (get it?) file these under cah-razy.

Now if we could just fast forward to spring…
