Remember the movie Now and Then? It was about a bunch of old ladies reminiscing about their past and a really fun summer they once had, because now their lives suck and everyone is uptight, busy, and/or boring. Basically, the movie’s premise makes so much more sense now because that is life. Summer used to be fun and now it is just life. BUMMER. Here are the differences between summer then, and summer now. RIP fun.
THEN: I’M SO TAN.
NOW: White. As. Fuck.
THEN: Everyone’s around!!! So many people to hang out with!!!
NOW: Everyone is busy and on vacation. I have no friends.
THEN: Let’s go out!!!
NOW: I’m tired. And I have to work tomorrow. WHEN CAN I GO TO BED?
THEN: Shorts all day every day.
NOW: Where’s my cardigan? Is this office Alaska?
THEN: I don’t feel like working today. I’M CALLING OUT!
NOW: I wish I didn’t have to work today. How many vacation days do I have left?
THEN: OMG I want ice cream.
NOW: OMG I want ice cream. But I can’t eat ice cream. I’m on all carb diet, GOD self you are SO stupid.
THEN: Let’s drive around with the windows down and music blasting!
NOW: Must. save. gas. Must. not. drive.
THEN: I hate work! (picture of fun camp)
NOW: I hate work!
THEN: Let’s go to ___’s pool.
NOW: WHY DON’T WE KNOW ANYONE WITH A POOL ANYMORE?
