Tis the season for ghosts, ghouls, poltergeists and gore. You can find it all in a scary movie. Let’s agree that scary movies are not for everyone. But October is the perfect time to watch. So hit the theater or your couch and get screaming! (Disclaimer: I am not a movie expert or film critic so any suggestions are personal preference only.)
You need to watch a scary movie because… it’s fun to be scared. Ok, maybe just for a few hours. You can always sleep with the lights on.
You need an excuse to get close to a guy you’re interested in. I am 100% guilty of this. Try watching The Shining with several inches or feet between you two. IT’S NOT POSSIBLE. This is the easiest date idea ever. No awkward small talk, just opportunity to put your significant other’s hand in a death grip of fear.
You can’t click through your channels without finding one. That is, if you even pay for cable anymore. AMC Fear Fest, ABC Family’s 13 Days of Halloween (ok, so not that scary, but still) etc.
There is a scary movie for just about everyone. Ok, so maybe not everyone. But if aliens are your thing, or maybe paranormal stuff, or whatever your scare of choice may be, it’s out there.
It’s almost Halloween, damnit. Embrace the fact that it is still fall and not winter yet and mark this occasion with a horror flick. So many benefits.
You need to relive the days when you lied about being 13 to get in to a movie theater. Scary movies were so cool when you were 12. You were too young to actually go see them yourself but felt *rebellious* enough to tell that box office worker you were in fact old enough to be there. The Sixth Sense. So edgy.
